A sign indicating the location of Mkhitar Sparapet’s grave pilgrimage site will be installed

“Araratian Values Educational Foundation” will install a sign indicating the location of Mkhitar Sparapet’s grave pilgrimage site in Khndzoresk village of Syunik Marz, Armenia.

The grave of Mkhitar Sparapet is located in the old pantheon of Old Khndzoresk village, where the graves of Mkhitar Sparapet, Queen Parandzem and many other historical figures and heroes are lost in obscurity.

Very little information has been preserved about Mkhitar Sparapet. It is known that he was born in Gandzak at the end of the 17th century. Arriving in Zangezur in 1723, he joined Davit Bek and became one of the pioneers of the Armenian liberation struggle against the Turkish invaders.
